Information we collect

We collect account information you provide, including name, email address, password, profile details, submitted stories, comments, and basic operational data such as IP address, browser information, and session data.

How we use it

We use this information to run the site, authenticate members, send account reclaim and password reset and email verification emails, moderate submissions, preserve the archive, and improve reliability.

Public content

Published stories, comments, member display names, and public profile details may be visible to visitors and search engines. Private message data imported from the original site is kept archived and is not publicly displayed.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies to keep you signed in and support site features. When Google AdSense advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this and other websites. Where applicable, the advertising consent message provides consent and privacy choices. Signup security

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on registration to help prevent bots and spam. Cloudflare processes technical signals such as your IP address, browser information, and the site you are visiting to check for automated activity. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits and activity and improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as the page visited, browser, and device. Analytics loads only after Google's consent system reports that analytics consent is granted or does not apply. We also disable Analytics when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Analytics may include account, sign-in, registration, password-reset, submission, private-message, and admin pages. For these areas we use generic page names to measure visits and engagement time, without sending message text, message subjects, member names, email addresses, passwords, or private record identifiers as analytics data. When enabled, our story recommendations link to Amazon searches and include our Associates tracking ID. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Following a link takes you to Amazon, where Amazon's privacy and cookie policies apply. These links contain a shopping topic, not your account details or private messages.
