A floating Letter…?

One time I was just sitting in my kitchen, while my mom was cooking at the stove, and so her back was facing me. I was sitting at the 'island' counter that we have in the middle of the kitchen. Whenever I sit in this place, I can't see the floor, and only about the stove and up. All of a sudden, a bit of paper came up from the 'floor' or so I assumed, because I couldn't see the floor. The strange thing, though, was that the note disappeared into the ceiling.

I was completely amazed, because it had completely vanished! I didn't want to tell anyone, because I would assume they would think I was crazy or trying to attract attention to myself (as I would guess a lot of people on this website would think of this) but I did see it, and I have absolutely no idea what it was/what caused it.

Does anyone know what could have cause it/ what could it be?
