A Lazy Day In the Life of a Ten Year Old

In 1952 I was 10 yrs old, I lived on the banks of the Ohio river in Chesapeake, Ohio across the river from Huntington, WVa.

I was reclining on our front lawn in a lull of my play day and just idly staring at the beautiful, blue sky. I noticed a silver dot off to my left and watched it as it came closer to me and grew larger. I imagined that it was a blimp of some kind and was only curious and not alarmed. It drifted to right above me and all of a sudden a row of windows appeared around the circumference of this cigar shaped , silver "blimp." In the next instant I had the sensation of being scrutinized. I jumped up, yelling for my Mom at the top of my lungs. The silver blimp became a silver dot in the sky, in an instant, no sound, and went off to my left. I knew that I had seen an "Unidentified Flying Object" although that is not what I called it then.

I don't know where it came from but I do know what I saw.
