Creeped Out

It was the night of my birthday and I've always believed that my grandmother's house was haunted. She has told me about some of the weird things that have gone on there. I really didn't believe it until something happened. She was throwing a mini birthday party for me and I was asked to go into the basement to get some cups for the guests. For some reason or another, I felt a sense of unease as I walked down the basement stairs, as if something was letting me know I shouldn't keep going. However, I got to the basement and as soon as I stepped off the last step, I looked to my right and I saw what looked like a man's upper body with slashes and cuts all over it. I was scared to death of what I had just seen and immediatley ran back up the stairs and promised myself that I would never venture down to the basement ever again. I told my grandmother about what I saw and she said that her house had a bad history and that she had already known about the basement. We had an exorcism done to the house, but I still won't go to the basement just in case.
