Daddy

I was about 5 years old at the time of this experience. I had been asleep for a couple of hours or so when i awoke to someone speaking my name. Looking up, I saw my dad at the door. He just stood there, staring at me, and calling me to him with his finger-you know, the come hither type thing that people do with their hands? anyways, I sat up asking what he wanted. After about a minute of him just standing there I finally got up to see what he wanted. as he continued with the "come hither" motion, he walked backwards down the hallway, and around the corner into the kitchen. I followed him along the way, confused and tired. But, as I turned into the kitchen-just as he had-I found he wasn't there. Anywhere. And there was only one entrance into our apartment kitchen, so he couldn't have run off.

Scared, I began calling out his name, searching the kitchen. I then ran down the hallway into his bedroom, where I saw him sleeping, and snoring loud and clear as he does when he sleeps. I was so terrified that I ran back to my bedroom and hid under the covers.

This is the first paranormal experience that I can remember. tada

Holy smokes! I had something VERY similar happen to me when I was around that same age.

I was fast asleep in my bed, sleeping with my head towards the foot of the bed so I could be closer to the portion of my room that was lit by the sliver of light coming from the hallway through the slightly ajar bedroom door.

I awoke to hearing my mother calling my name, and looked to find her at the head of my bed. I was still half asleep and wondering what she wanted when suddenly it struck me as odd that she could fit between the wall and the headboard... then it went beyond seeming odd and became downright scary.

I called out to her but she didn't move, just stood there with her hands resting on the headboard looking down at me from the other end of the bed.

Looking back now I wonder how I stayed so composed, I think I may have just been too freaked out to react and ended up just covering my head with my blanket and going back to sleep.

Everyone thinks I was just dreaming, but I can only remember two dreams I ever had at that age and they both involved flying. This was no dream, I was WIDE awake... sometimes I think II was visited by my grandmother who died before I was born, she looked a lot like my mom, and to the untrained eye of a young kid freaked out n a dark room... well you draw your own conclusion.
