Demon Owl

My husband is Mexican and shortly after we met, he told me about a supernatural creature that's native to his culture. It's called Lachusas (sp) and it's a winged demon that can also take shape as an owl. Basically they fly around and hide in the trees and stalk people until it's the right time, then they invade their minds and homes and the victim often sees things or hears voices whispering sinister things to them until the Lachusas has gone. They are evil creatures and they prey on those with strong Christian faith, trying to strike fear and doubt in them.

Around the first of the year, I awoke in the middle of the night to feel my husband struggling and mumbling to himself. Next thing I know, he shoots out of bed in a rage and punches a hole in our wall! When I asked him what the hell was going on, he told me there was a Lachusas in the room standing over him trying to strangle him and that the whispers in his head were telling him I was next. He gathered all the faith and strength that he could and backed the creature up against the wall and punched it in the face. I didn't see the creature, but he said that after the punch it sort of evaporated anyway. When we turned on the light, we could see that he was bleeding from where his fist hit it's tooth, and that the hole in the wall wasn't from my husband's hand, but the back of the Lachusas's head.

When I was about 7 years old, my brother had a friend named Tyrone. Him and my brother would always buy these kinder egg toys. I saw them one day and asked my brother if I could play with them, he said "Wait your turn", so I waited. I asked him again several hours later, he said he lent them to Tyrone and when he returned them I could play with them. The next day, Tyrone was outside talking with my brother, he said he put them in the mailbox so I checked. Nothing in there, so I continued about my day.

That night, I had just laid down as I heard a voice.

The voice said "Tyrone never came to your house" in a way I'd never heard before. I was in complete awareness, not even drowsy, I stood up to look for where the voice was coming from. I walked to the end of my room, looked both ways in the hallway and saw nothing. When I turned around there was a horrifying owl faced creature staring at me. The second I saw it I couldn't move, it was like the creature had taken over my body. It's eyes started swirling with spirals and it screamed at me like a banshee. About 30 seconds went by, and I could move again, the creature had vanished away, but I wasn't the same. I tried to scream, but my voice was a whisper, I tried to smash things to wake my parents but my arms slipped through material. I couldn't walk fast, it was like I was under water. I went into my living room because I was too afraid to stay in my bedroom, there I saw three skeletal creatures. They didn't appear to be made out of bone, they seemed like they were made out of light.

They spoke in a language I didn't understand, casually among themselves as if they didn't even notice me. I can't remember too much what happened next. The day after, I heard the same voice "Tyrone never came to your house". This time I ran like the wind into my parents bedroom while covering my eyes. I hid underneath their window all night.

The weekend came by, my mother was outside in the back yard, she called me to look at an owl that was up in our pine tree. There has never been an owl in that tree before or after that day.

The part that freaks me out, judging by the height of my window, and the fact there was no place for a bird to perch, I'd say the creature was between 8 and 9 feet tall.

I've been telling people about this experience since it happened, I've probably typed this at least 1,000 times. That's probably underestimated actually.

I don't know why I even bother.

Oh, forgot to mention, the skeletal creatures appeared to be wearing gold plates, fancy jewelery or armor, I couldn't tell. Headdresses that looked like something an aztec might wear, but different at the same time.

didn't notice any weapons, just the armor. Looked ritualistic.

I've had many experiences with many things. But even though it's been about 15 years, not a day goes by that I don't think about the owl.

Everything else, I can just - not think about. The owl however, it keeps me up and I can only sleep during the day.

I take sleeping pills and they don't do a thing. I think I might actually be afraid to sleep at night.

Astrologic, I'm happy to say this has never plagued me before or since (the owl thing) and I think it's because creatures from myths and legends like this feed off of the belief people have in them and fear of them. I'm no longer with the man who was my husband at the time of this event. If you haven't seen this thing in 15 years even WITH as much thought you give it, it doesn't stand to reason that you have anything to fear. Unlike most supernatural phenomenon, this thing is NOT shy about coming out during the day, so if it wanted to get to you, it would have by now! Be strong and take back the night! Love and peace.

It's been over a year since I've posted this? strange. Still a day hasn't gone by that I haven't thought about that creature.

I haven't gotten any closer to figuring out anything about it, but it causes me just as much fear and stress as it always has.

I really just wish someone could say they've had the exact same experience, so I can know I'm not alone.

Sorry, since I've posted my owl experience... in here.

I'm not very good with this site..

I understand that it could feed off the fear or whatever, but the thing is, I was raised atheist. I had no beliefs when I saw the owl....

I mean, I thought about God sometimes, but I didn't know what to believe. I believe in God now, so I'm just not sure....

Hey ...I'm from Romania and something like this happened to me when i was like 4-5 but the story may sound childish but it's fucked'up. I was with my father at a store and i asked him to buy me some Tattoo gum but it was not usual , the tattoo was very creepy and very detailed . So next we went to my aunt and my uncle who is a priest and she told me not to put that tattoo on me because ...(cant remember) something bad will happen than she took me to the bathroom where was a little plastic chair ( the little ones for kids) with a lookalike tattoo and there was noticeable tooth prints like something bit the chair ( the store was right in front of their block). And i didnt listen and printed the tattoo on my hand .

In that night i woke up and when i looked up i saw an owl creature like 1 meter tall with that strange cat eyes , big and yellow and black , also it had like tooth but monster tooth very sharp with a grinning smile floating in my rooms corner getting through the wall and back in and back out , i could hear its wings and feeling my hearth burning...First thing i wanted was to move and wake my mom but i couldn't move , my voice was like i never used and all i could do was to stare but i struggled until i moved and woke up my parents but when they woke up it was gone .. i have to add that turning my had and screaming took like 1 second .

Yes this sounds like a typical Sleep Paralysis episode but what is strange is that after that night i was followed by sleeping paralysis and episodes like : Dad left my room to get me something to eat and the light turned off , the window opened and a strange creature entered from the nights sky wich shocked me then i left the room in hurry and when i turned my head it was gone , strange creatures over my head whispering me to not look at specific TV shows and than spitting something my ear like acid , that i could feel even after i woke up . I tough i was haunted so i left to my grand parent where i tough i was safe but same story , window open ....witch like creature comes and shocks me or wake up in the middle of the night with a ghost in my face , than i went to holiday at the sea side on a hotel where story was the same big bees that fly over or strange ghosts . One day i was with my babysitter who was smoking outside and i was sitting alone in the room with the strange experiences when i've heard a strange demon screaming from the corner where the owl was . it was so non expected and loud that i ran out asap ... My parents started to thing that i have psychical problems but they told me to say preys before sleeping and that chapter of my life is over . I can add that i'm Atheist and my rational explain for my story is sleeping paralysis + something that cant be explained lol btw if your kids tell you some sort of story like mine you'd better belief them .

I'm from North Carolina and from when I was eight to when I was twelve I had experiences with the same or a similar creature. It haunted my childhood and with my mother being a VERY religious woman she thought I was lying or that I had heard of it from the television. The only person In my family who believed me was my older sister so she took me to the library to research. We never found any true evidence so we decided to give up. I am so glad that others have had similar experiences and that i'm not alone.

Anyone here thought of the masonic connection to this creature?

I'm so tired, so very tired.
