Eerie Odor

The suburban Pennsylvania home I was raising my four children in offered more than shelter within its walls; it gave a glimps into the unknown.

Without explanation an errie odor of rotting fish would permeate the entire house, linger for a while, and then disappear as inexplicably as it came. When one of my daughters left for college the odor stopped completely, or so we thought. When we brought my daughter home for fall break we were met with a suprise. As we entered the garage the odor was back and overwhelmingly so.

We since moved out of that house and never expierenced that odor again.

What was it and why did it seem to be there only in my daughters presence?

Fish smell or any other bad odor present in a home usually indicates, "evil or bad", presence.

This is not good. Anyone who smells this type of odor in their home should contact their clergyman or priest.

Yeah, from what I've read anything that is associated with a foul odor is not good. Maybe your daughter was a trigger for this, or possibly your daughter had something bad following her around?

I hate to say it but I think your daughter is a polterguist. this means there is an entity atached to her. These usually last a month or two, if she ignores it. Not to worry though calling a specialist (have a prist bless her, or have an exersism) usually solves the problem.

P.S. sorry for the bad spelling. I am a terrible speller but i know more then i should, about the supernatural. Good luck.

I agree with the other comments posted that for some reason this entity is attached to your daughter. Does the strange smell happen around her at other locations? And did the smell begin about the time your daughter became a teenager, if so I would also agree with the post about a possible poltergeist attachment.

I am amazed at so many stories from PA on this site. I am also from PA and this is my first time on ths site and I have read several stories already that have taken place here.

I would speak to your daughter about anything unusual happening in her life... strange sounds or occurrences, voices or visualizations.... has she felt anything out of the ordinary?

Usually when a spirit manifests around a person, that person can "sense" it's presence.

If she says yes to any of these, you might consider some professional help... talk to a priest or contact a local paranormal research group, because though it does seem likely that this could be a poltergeist manifestation, I've never heard of one that lasted longer than the onset of puberty.

What I'm concerned about, and understand that I am not a professional; is that it might be the beginning stages of possession.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

No offense but... "nasty fish smell" whenever your daughter was around ? Sounds like a bad dirty joke.

Actually... gotta agree with last comment... I'm not seeing much of a connection here to substantiate 'poltergeist" or anything weird yet. Instead of clergy/sage/or whatever else people advise or try... Maybe some deodorant and showering should clear it up.

Sorry I'm being faceitous but unless something else develops from it, I just don't see a real concern.

Ya I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree with the bad joke comment. Sometimes spirits can become attached to people. Perhaps your daughter is clairvoyant and said spirit is looking for help. Maybe it's a demon and it's definitely looking to attack her through her gifts. I would definitely consult a holy man for an opinion.

Any kind of bad odor that has manifested out of know where then goes away suddenly states that there is a demon, evil, bad entity around, the fact that it is only around when your daughter is around could mean that an entity is trying to possess her!
