Even The Spirit World Can Get Offended

It was 1989. I went with my parents and sister to an old friend’s home for the weekend. The friend lived near the home that had strange happenings (read “My Birthday Party Sleepover). My sister and I were already bored after only being at my parent’s friends home for a few hours. I asked my father if my sister and I could borrow his bronco to go riding around. He told us to not drive around too long before getting gas because he only had a quarter of a tank left. After driving around for about thirty minutes we wound up near the house we used to live in. I finally got the nerve up to drive by it. I’m not sure what I was expecting but nothing happened. We started talking about the things that used to happen in the home and laughing and making fun. I turned down the next street over when I looked at the fuel gauge and noticed it was full, past the full mark. I looked at my sister and told her that we didn’t need gas. Dad must have forgotten that he had gotten it earlier. I looked back at the other gauges and all of them were pointing to the right. I looked at my sister told her what was happening and then screamed and raised my feet up in the seat (just in case something was under the seat). I put my foot back on the gas pedal and floored it. As we left the area the gauges went back and forth very fast and then settled back to normal. We had hardly any gas; the engine was cool, 45 mph. We drove back to my parent’s friend’s home and told everyone what we had experienced. My father thought we were crazy. Later the next week my father took his vehicle in to the dealership just in case there was something wrong with it. He told the mechanics what I experienced and they laughed and said that it wasn’t possible. I must have read it wrong. I was also asked if there were power lines, which there weren’t. It finally came down to me and my sister made it up.

In 2004 my husband and I bought our first minivan. It was not my idea. I didn’t want the minivan. I can’t help it I hate minivans. Anyway, I drove the van off of the lot and as I veered right to get onto the highway I looked down and my gas gauge went from F to E. I yelled we have a gas leak!!! My husband told me to pull over. Before I pulled over I looked at the other gauges and they were all to the left. I did not stop, I floored it, and as I did everything went back to normal. My husband was yelling at me because he thought something was really wrong with the van. I told him that I knew what I was doing because it had happened before and that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. He wanted to go back to the dealership so I turned around. The conversation on the way back to the dealership was with raised voices. I knew that the dealership would tell us that it was impossible, and sure enough when my husband told them what he saw they told him that it couldn’t happen because the gas is not connected to the other instruments. They checked out the van, they even hooked it up to a computer. Everything was normal.

There could be a good explanation for this happening. I just think it is odd that it has happened to me twice.

@ Caleb:

I used to check the site daily, now I check it two or three times a week... things have slowed down, and to be honest; not all of the stories I have read either require or warrant a response.

@ lord:

It's not uncommon for these things to happen in certain circumstances... magnetism can affect gears that way, and there have been cases where stronger paranormal occurrences have caused compasses to point south instead of north, or water to drain from a sink in an opposite spiral pattern than the norm (which I believe is a left spiral pattern). Those cases generally involved demons, or so it was believed, because of the reverse of the gravitational fields that make water drain like it normally does.

It hasn't been substantiated, however.

I would strongly consider that you seek the assistance of someone with a strong psychic background, experience with demonology, or maybe even someone who has some experience with exorcisms... and I say this because if this is something that is following you around (as your story suggests), you're going to want to have some protection around for you and your family.

I genuinely hope that I am wrong, however... it could also be latent telekinesis... but it's better to be safe than sorry.

God be with you.

As a Paranormal Investigator i can tell you, your not alone! We (PI-NE) worked on a case back in 2004 where the woman (client) told us she had the same thing happened to her in her car, and she was goofing off and that area (where it would happened) she recorded an EVP off one of them key chain reminder tools. The EVP said something about not being alone? Very odd indeed, we thought maybe she had some kind of EMF field was higher then normal in that area where it would do that but, the RPM meter in her car wouldn't react to EMF or magnetic at all? We was unable to come up with an answer! Any luck with your case?

Interesting story. I haven't heard about car gauges going crazy like that being linked to paranormal phenomenon so that's a new one to me. It's also strange that it occurred so much later in life and you were not near the previous house. Does anything else strange tend to happen in your normal daily life?
