EVP Encounter

So after seeing the movie 'White Noise' a few years ago, I decided to try it out afterward. I recorded my room and me asking general questions for spirits to answer. I tried 9 times and got nothing those times. I became annoyed and on the last try I gave my ultimatum "If any spirits can hear me, respond after I finish. You have 10 seconds." I recorded 10 seconds after then played back. Just after I said "...10 seconds..." I heard what sounded like a whisper. I maxed my computer's volume and played it back at that point. Clear enough I heard, "I can hear you" whispered.

I went to bed instantly scared as Hell. Next morning I went to school, went through my day, came back in afternoon and played it back to confirm what I heard. Sure enough, it was fuzzy afterward but I could still hear a faint "I can hear you." I sent the clip to 5 or 6 friends and asked them to listen closely to what I said after I spoke. I did not tell them what I thought I heard and merely asked for their opinion if they heard anything. all but one said, "You're then whispering 'I can hear you' right?"

I wish I saved the audio but my computer has been restored multiple times and the website I used to keep the sound clip on has been deleted due to inactivity.

Understandably, not believing the story without the EVP proof is fine... I just advise caution if you play with the spirit realm as this was just the first encounter I had...
