Fort Walton Beach House

Up until last year I lived in a house in Fort Walton Beach, Florida that was my Ex-Husbands childhood home. He had been a member of a family of four and was the last surviving member. Both his Mother and Father had died in the house during the 16 years I was married to him. In fact, I had nursed his Mother through her death from lung cancer and his Father through his death from heart disease. The Father went first in the Fall of 1992 and the Mother went a year and 6 days later, in the Fall of 1993. Shortly after the Father's death, we all began seeing "shadows"...of what we thought were people as well as animals. After the Mothers passing the activity increased. Even our dogs would react to the shadows and other phenomenon going on in that house. There were two portraits, of the Parents, hanging on the wall. Shortly after the Mother died, one of my Jack Russell terriers would sit in front of the portraits and bark, sit up, and beg staring at the pictures the entire time. It was truly creepy. We would see what we thought were people coming out of the kitchen, but when we looked full on there was no one there. We would hear doors closing and footsteps....and no one would be there.

After my cheater of an Ex Husband left me the activity picked up even more. Morning, Noon and night, something was always moving around and I would see it out of the corner of my eye. At one point I had a roommate. She used to line all her shoes up against the closet door. One morning she made her bed and went out to the kitchen to make coffee. Forgetting something in her room she went back to it and there, in the middle of her bed, was one of her shoes sitting there as if someone had placed it, neatly, in the middle of the bed. To say she was creeped out is putting it mildly. That surely made a believer out of her.

Two Christmases ago I had another friend who happens to be sensitive, over for Christmas dinner. Just as the dinner was about to be served my friend came running to me all freaked out. She had seen a full body apparition appear in front of the refrigerator. When she described the gray-haired woman I showed her a photo of the Mother and, sure enough, that was exactly what she had seen.

There was a lot of emotional pain and agony in that house. My Ex had an older Brother who had committed suicide, although not in that house, he had been raised in the house. There were a lot of family secrets and plenty of skeletons in the closets. The Mother didn't want to pass on and I knew, before she even went, that she would remain in the house. To my surprise, all 3 of them were in the house. I never felt threatened by them or frightened.....I was never affected directly, by their presence, but it was weird living with hauntings, like that. Living with that causes a lot of stress and when the time came to leave that house I was glad. The house remains empty, to this day...still owned my Ex Husband yet not lived in by him.

I have no doubt his family members still roam the halls and rooms stubbornly refusing to go to the light.

Interesting. Hopefully your ex lets whoever eventually buys the house know he's got some relatives still hanging around in there.
