Ghostly Camp - Ringwood, NJ
Back in High School I used to take random trips in New Jersey in search of paranormal/weird locations. On one of my expeditions into Ringwood, NJ with the intent of locating and exploring Jungle Safari... an abandoned Warner Brothers original drive-thru safari (predecessor to Six Flags Safari.) I located the park and did about a 3 hour walkthrough of the whole place interestingly locating only a peacock as the only exotic animal to the region.
However, upon my return home I also decided to stop by Demon's Alley (an infamous location of abandoned small homes and dozens of legends.) My friend and I determined nothing of interest there other than tons of graffiti inside the houses and plenty of vandalism.
The story becomes paranormal then afterward when my friend and I decided to return home, but found some wayward road while heading back toward the highway. I can not remember what specifically attracted us to go down the road, but we followed it anyways and were led to what appeared to be a children's summer camp area. The place did not appear rundown nor well-kept. There was a lake and a playground that was in the distance near the farther edges of the lake.
While following the road, the road circles in front of a large white house. Upon approaching the house with the car, the front screen door slowly opened as if welcoming us. We drove around the circle and noticed as we passed that the screen door closed slowly. As we made the full circle, the screen door opened again slowly as we approached. I figured there was a wire, sensor, or weighted part of the road detecting our arrival, so for whatever reason the screen door would open to appear welcoming to guests. My friend and I then started driving forward and reverse trying to find the location of the switch, but the door remained open as we tried. Once we drove a little closer to the door, the screen door SLAMMED shut. I hopped out of the car and took a few steps toward the door when the screen door then flung open and banged against the railing. I took a step back and it slammed shut again. There was no wind as I recall which made it seem even more particularly odd. I started to back up toward the front door of the car again when the door proceeded to open and shut multiple times. I got in the driver's seat and started driving away. In the distance I noticed the swings on the playground were now violently swinging back and forth very high up, but no trees were rustling.
If anyone knows what camp I am talking about or has further information on the incident, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've read many of the stories on this website, but this one (so far) has been the only one that has given me chills. Keep us updated if you decide to go back.

I agree with Lurk - if you go back you should take recorders, cameras, etc.! I would love to see that! Did you not see a name on anything - road name, or name of the camp?

I wish I could remember but all I know was that it was near Demon's Alley, not more than five minutes so if I were to be able to pinpoint Demon's Alley (which I found by chance) I could possibly locate it via google map by the adjacent lake. Unfortunately, Ringwood area has tons of lakes and reservoirs so it may not be so easy.
