Living next to the Old Davis Hospital

My story is about an old victorian duplex that I lived in during high school. It was next door to an old abandoned hospital that was rumored to he haunted. In the past, the house I was living in was owned by the hospital and even heated with an underground duct that heated the house. I felt somehow there was a direct connection between the house and the old creepy hospital with broken windows.

There were times when some friends of mine and I would crawl through an entrance way and look around all the floors. There were old hospital beds and old patient records scattered all over the floor. There were also old x-ray photos that just seemed to be discarded without any consideration. This I believe seemed to give life to the old hospital and there was always a feeling of dread inside. Late at night, whenever I would come home or walk by the building, I would hear what sounded like whispering and talking. I never knew where it was coming from but it was very apparent and it was from the dark hospital. I also saw a white figure walk by the window during the day. I used to think my eyes were playing tricks on me but I know what I saw.

The events that occurred in my house next door were constant flickering of lights, kitchen drawers opening by themselves and the power being shut off without warning only to come back on. We also thought the furnace never worked but I think it had to do with the temperature being drained from unseen forces. One spirit manifested in front of me one night, standing at the foot of my bed. I will never forget it. I can never describe the gray/whitish glow that almost seemed from another world. He was angry and pointing at me as if to say get out. It scared the hell out of me. Looking back on this experience, I know that I was picking up on all the energies inside the home. A lot of which were sad. When I was 16 and living there I had even thought of taking my life. A difficult time and the house I believe, was wanting me to take my life and drained my life force. You're environment really has a huge effect of your whole state of being, and having lived in this house which I believe was haunted, has made me realize that we're never alone and no house is spared from being potentially inhabited by others.

True words at end of your story.

It's amazing how many places are abandoned the way they are with records and all kinds of stuff inside. Even without a haunting... it definitely sets the place up for misery as it'll welcome criminal activity that can effect neighborhoods mentally and "supernaturally" as legends develop.
