Midnight Pressure
I had to have been 11 at the time, and I remember that was the year when I moved to the upstairs portion of our old house, and that was a big deal for me. One, because that means I got my own space and two, because the upstairs always gave me the heepy jeepies, it always felt like someone was right there, watching you, just observing, and sometimes it felt like they were right there, just behind you, just playing the staring game just waiting for you to turn and see them. However, everytime there was nothing to be seen. One night while I was in my bed, I looked my alarm clock, still groggy and dazed from sleep, I couldn't read the digital red numbers but I knew that I still had plenty of time to sleep, so I remember I was lying on my back, which was a rarity for me but I was. And I could feel my cat laying at the end of the bed, and then there was this slowly increasing pressure on my chest and this feeling like someone was looking down at me. Like any child of 11 years old I held my eyes shut and I let the hot covers of my bed stay over my face. I tried to turn but I felt paralyzed, I couldn't move, but the pressure was increasing like someone was putting one brick at a time on my chest. I remember my cat jumping off the bed I eventually began mouthing and softly whispering the prays I had learned in Sunday School, and I felt the pressure slowly go away. I don't know what it was, but I can remember the pressure clearly on my chest, and I wasn't completely scared but I knew there was something there. I just keep wondering to myself what it was or who is was or if it was anything...

well mostly this sounds as if you had yourself freaked out. I investigate paranormal reports in my spare time. There is something called night time paralysis or waking paralysis. This may only happen once, a dozen times, even a hundred and can effect any age group. It mostly occurs when people become psychologically worked up. The symptoms are similar to what you described (brick by brick unable to turn side to side etc) High electromagnetic frequencies (basically unshielded wiring in the house or on the property) can cause the heebiejeebies further increasing the phenomenon. Again the scale of what is felt largely depends on how sensitive to these things (or how easily they are worked up) someone is. I would be glad to answer any questions you may have just email me
