My Old House

When I was just a baby, my mom was moving from one house to another. Before the house I'm in now, we lived in a haunted yellow house on the same block. My mom was waiting for my dad to get home from work with my aunt. Usually he goes around to the garage, so when they heard the door slam they went to check it. The door was never messed with and his truck wasn't there. My mom was scared but my aunt had to go, so my mom decided to go to sleep. Again she heard the noise but when she went to check, still nothing, no one. She lay in bed somewhat asleep somewhat awake and she could see this figure in the door way with a knife. She shut her eyes then opened them to find him gone. She was afraid, but she had to protect me and my sister so she went to look around with a knife in her hand..... she was terrified. There was no one, the door was locked and nothing was there.

A long time ago when my mom and aunt were younger, way younger, they lived in that neighborhood and visited all the elderly people. There was this old lady close to death. They would sit with her on the porch and listen to her stories of when she was their age and eat mints she gave them. She was a nice, little old lady but her mean son wanted to put her in a nursing home. Poor lady, but in a way it would be best, she was very old and needed help but refused. So they say he killed her, neighbors saw it (I guess he was the figure) They wanted to punish him, but he hid. He was ashamed, guilty, even suicidal. He decided to go back the same day and he hung hisself.??? How do I know, because when someone tried to move in they saw his corpse. The old lady even warned my mom that she needed to move fast. Something bad was gonna happen. She still cared for my mom even though she is resting in peace. They decided to wreck the house and re-build. The old lady saved me and my sister.

My mom went to get us because of the old lady, and if she didn't, I guess I would be dead or very badly scared. I pray that the old lady is in peace now and still thank her.
