Rolling Stones Gather More Than Moss...
To lay the groundwork, I was/am in a Rock Band that was signed to a record label and we did a fair amount of touring. In 2000 it was time to record and release our 1st full length CD. We did the majority of the recording in Hoboken, NJ, but didn't have time to finish the entire CD. Our label scheduled us to play a New Years Eve show in CT, so they arranged a week at a studio located in Massachusetts, as it was relatively close to CT and could leave from there to make the show.
I cannot name the studio, because they explicitly asked that we didn't say anything, in fear of bands not wanting to come there. However, I can tell you that the "Rolling Stones" spent a fair amount of time in this studio and is why I titled this story as such.
So, we were in this "Studio" for a few days and everything was fine. The place was very nice and had all of the amenities that anyone could ask for. It was a converted barn in the middle of nowhere, which provided great scenery, and was very large. In fact, it had rooms and staircases everywhere and was actually a bit confusing to navigate at first.
It was our last night at the studio and our singer was laying down some tracks. Our Bass player, my Girlfriend and myself were deeply involved in a Monopoly game. We were having a good time buying and selling real estate and exchanging fake currency, but that would soon come to and end.
We were innocently playing this game when all of a sudden we heard footsteps on a platform (that was used for live rehearsals) just above where we were sitting. We all looked at each other with a curious look in our eyes, and to break the awkward silence, I through a Combo (a popular pretzel and cheese snack) up onto the platform and said "Hey, Have a combo". We all kinda laughed and continued to play our game. A few minutes had passed and we began to hear the footsteps again, but this time they ended on a "Catwalk" type structure that was almost above us. We all heard it and followed the sounds with our eyes. At this point we were really stating to get freaked out. I then said to the others, "whatever just ignore it".
We apprehensively continued to play our game. The footsteps then got intense (loud) and got very close to us. We all looked up onto the platform where the footsteps were coming from, when right before our eyes, these HUGE barn doors unlatched themselves and blew open with great force. Our bass player grabbed my arm and everyone's jaw dropped in disbelief over what was unfolding right before our eyes. I turned to the group and said, lets get outta here and we silently agreed and then hauled ass up the stairs, across the platform and into the control room where they were recording.
We all flew into the control room. The producer and engineer yelled, because they were in the middle of a take. After they were finished they turned to us and asked what had happened. We explained the entire scenario, but they seemed to blow the whole thing off. The singer then asked us who was screaming. We said nobody screamed, because we didn't. He then said that he heard a shrill scream in his headphones just before we busted into the control room. That really creeped me out, because we ran right through the area where the footsteps were coming from. (That was the only way into the area where the other guys were) and I immediately thought that we ran by or through whatever was there. The engineer (who worked there) walked out and saw the large barn door open and said, "Maybe it was wind that blew them open", only to walk out and find that there was absolutely NO wind outside. He proceeded to close and lock the doors. It was a bit of a process because the doors were very large. I would say 9 - 10ft tall and weren't very easy to manipulate. I know because I had been going out that way to get firewood. The producer then mentioned that we have to get this recording done, as this was our last night there. So everyone went back into the control room and proceeded to do some recording.
A fair amount of time had passed and the three of us decided we'd go back and attempt to finish our Monopoly game. So, we went back, sat down and "tried" to play the game. After a few minutes we all got this overwhelming feeling that something didn't want us to be there. It felt as if you were to walk into a room with someone that you know didn't like you, but was amplified by a factor of say 100. It was almost hard to breathe. At that time we decided to leave that part of the studio and go to the game room and play pool.
Later that night, once they were done recording, we got to talking. The engineer who worked at the studio admitted that the studio was haunted and then told us a multitude of other occurrences at the studio and confirmed that there was in fact spirits that resided at this location. I could go in great detail about the stories, but this is getting long as it is, so I will summarize a bit. He told us of another band who repeatedly saw a girl in the studio. On another occasion one band member was held down when went to his bedroom and left the studio in the middle of the night, a person that was levitated or lifted 4ft off of the ground and dropped, a member of another band would sleep walk and cry uncontrollably every night they stayed there and a employee came face to face with a girl as he was locking up at the end of the night. He also said that "These" spirits get after people that either smoke or play with fire. I then got very scared, because I did smoke at the time and was constantly keeping a fire going in the fireplace. I was especially uneasy because this was our last night there and we had to stay alone at this place before we left in the morning.
Needless to say, we couldn't sleep and ended up spending the entire night awake. Some of the guys in the band swear that they saw fog, and things in mirrors, but it is hard to say because we were already so scared. The sun rose and we left on our trip to CT.
So.. that is the story... 100% true. I can actually provide more details, but like I said, the story was getting pretty long. If you want to know anything else, PM me...

Let me guess...Rolling Stones recorded at this studio? That is probably a huge turn on and fun for a band to record there.
If you had to go back there to record, would you?
I'm cool with ghosts. The minute that they touch me or move things...I'm out of there!!!
Great story.

The reason that they got after you and others who used fire is that it's a converted barn. The ghosts are concerned that their barn not be burned down. They don't know that there is no danger of that!

Maybe they just want some of "their" music back. They're tired of our modern stuff so they're doing their part to bring back 'classical.' :)
