something was growling at us

This was when I was eleven years old, my mother and I at that time lived in Brooklyn NY, It was nightime and cold, we was seeing a nighbor who was sick and I was elected to go with my mother. this lady live about four long blocks from us, when we finish with the visiting we walked back home on south third st. in brooklyn, we lived close to the train and close to brookiyn briged. but that night I was for some reason really spooked, and I know my mother too was weird out. we both did not acknowlege it we just walk fast and heads down.and had about a block awaymore from our brownstone building on south third st. we past some buildings that did not connect with each other, cause inbetween them was like a walk way where garbage can would be kept. and there was a low yellow light that was bright enough for someone to see in side. we felt rather than heard a growl, a noise that you can feel and it made your skin crawl, this thing or what ever it was followed us through those buildings growling really deep..it was weird it could follow us with out us seeing it. it was like it was everywhere, over us behind us infront of us. I was so scared that I never look left or right and my mother really had a tight hold on my hand dragging me all the way home. we felt more at ease when we cross the street heading to my block, and here all the building was connected together, no creepy hall way into the unknown. we arrive savely home, but I thought we was followed with a purpose. what I don't want to know.

I have seen, heard really weird things, that is why now i read buy all there is about creatures, paranormal, I have had some experience in that tool

but the other day I read somewhere about mothman in brookyn and how people whould discribe their experience, could that was that was tagging us all the way home?
