Speaking with the Dead Part II
Was still working for Ellen when we found out her dad had a stroke. Her parents lived in New York and so she made a trip out there to be with him. It was right around Christmas, 2006. She was gone for two weeks and I hadn't heard from her. One night in early January, 2008, I had a dream.
I found myself on a dusty planet in the year 3000. In the dust lay a human skeleton. I walked in through a door of this little futuristic looking building that was air tight sealed against the planet's atmosphere. The men at the console did not look up but I heard one of them say, "Don't worry, we will bring him back to life." Then I exited the building and found myself in a more normal setting though there were tumbleweeds and lots of empty space and hovering cars. Yup! Hover cars. There was someone giving me a tour of the planet. Next we saw some shops and I went into one. I was greeted by this really sweet old man with grey hair who had a plate of snowman cookies covered in blue frosting. He wanted me to help myself and he smiled very warmly at me. As I looked around the shop it appeared to have bins of tools or metals or something I couldn't quite figure out. The old man told me to give the blond curly haired woman - a teacher - a message. He said, "Tell her I'm sorry for leaving but I want her to know I love her."
Ellen came back a few weeks later and told me her dad passed away. In fact he died the night of my dream. Months later I told her about the dream and the man in the shop. As I described the bins with metal in them she said, "Did you know my grandfather owned a hardware store and my dad worked there when he was younger?" No, I replied, no I didn't.
