Street Light Phenomenon — AllSupernatural

I would estimate since I was 10 to approximately 17 years old, I had tons of situations where as I would be walking or driving, street lights would turn off as I would near or pass them. Of course in most instances I would consider it coincidence but it happened almost every night at different time intervals... happened in urban and remote locations... and sometimes when it would happen I would get a "strange" feeling.

I did not even notice the phenomenon until approximately 13 or 14 years old when I realized this happened so often and it seemed a bit outside the ordinary. I eventually reconciled that I either gave off a strange EMF field that shorted the lights... something followed me spiritually... or it was a series of immense coincidences.

To this day I am not sure what it was as it had stopped once my attention turned away from the phenomenon for sometime. I actually tend to lean more to side of coincidence but who knows?

I used to do the same thing. LOLZ! I couldn't even wear a watch, I kept killing them.

It stopped though.

I'm glad that it did or I couldn't use a computer!!!

I had similar things happen. I even had the chance to test a street light and it went out and ON again 3 times in the same night as I would approach it and then walk past. Another time a whole street went pitch black and I was in the middle of it. That one definitely scared me a bit. I walked as fast as I could towards a section with lights.

However if you ask around lots of people say they saw street lights go out. People usually laugh it off. This is usually them seeing one or two go out in the distance. Nothing of the sort of them going out above you.

my mom also says this happens a lot. i don't know if it happens anymore to her, but she has said that streetlights always go of right when she drives by them.

omg i didnt know it was anything paranormal... im just now getting into playing the computer more often, i used to ride my bike over tomy friends house every day and streetlights (im pretty sure they were the same ones) always went off when i passed them. i talked to myself about it and pretty much laughed it off

This same thing happens to me all the time, and it's been happening since I was a child. I am now 26 years old. I've always thought it was just a coincidence myself, but hearing it's happened to others I wonder what it could really be.

So many of us are consistently seeing lights go out as we go by. I am seriously going to research how streetlights work to find a possible malfunction with the electrical components that could explain this.

Maybe you give off some sort of Energy that disrupts the light's? That would be the Scientific explanation but then again, Science is still in my Mind, Paranormal.

I think that there are people out there that are sensitive to the Paranormal & others who give off more Energy than others, causing things like this to happen. It's what typically happens with Poltergeists as well. It's usually a teenage adolescent giving off an immense Energy of Emotion such as anger, causing things to happen like doors slamming shut, glasses shattering, etc.

& everyone knows that young children are very sensitive to these things, they see things. Maybe as we grow older & with the World that we're living in now has caused us to Believe that these things just don't exist, so we aren't prone to it anymore.

Happens to me sometimes too. But it is usually just a select few that do it....
