the black dog

ok this happened a while ago and i would like some feedback on this matter.

while i was in room where i was in the between state of falling asleep and being awake. just as i was starting to fall asleep my eyes were drawn towards the end of my bed and, now i'm not entirely sure if this was real or not, i saw a black dog/wolf with bright red glowing eyes staring back at me. when i saw this i was so frightened i couldn't even move to turn on bedroom light. as i was watching it, it decided to walk around to my side and while it was there i noticed it's breath came out as a black mist. when i noticed this it opened it's mouth and bit my side, now it didn't leave any marks seeing as it must have been some kind of spirit animal but the area still felt odd where it bit me. the only way to describe it is if you have a dream get hurt in said dream and then wake up with "pain" in the area you were hurt but it doesn't sting it just feel like a pressure.

this dream didn't happen again for a while but three weeks later the dog/wolf appeared again only this time instead of biting me it jumped into my body and i haven't seen it since.

i tried to research this but the only thing i got was a story about a demon dog looking similarly and supposedly it is an omen of death. but i'm not sure i believe this because this happend a year ago and i am still alive. plus supposedly crows and ravens are bad omens as well but i have had a whole bunch following me around outside for years now, i even had 23 of them on my lawn once, and i'm still alive.
