The Blue Coffin

Once when I was 13, I went to my aunts house. She had a 12 month old baby. I was in my room and I was watching tv. I glanced out my window and I saw a grey light about 12 feet above ground (I'm just guessing) and the light was about 40 feet away. I could see it clearly though because it was obviously very bright if you get up close to it. I went outside and walked halfway. When I got a clear enough view, I stopped and stared. It was clearly a blue tinted coffin with a green cross on its cover floating in the air. I walked back to the house and found my Aunt passed out on the kitchen floor. I knew she was alright because she was a major prescriptaholic. She left a bottle of her prescription drugs on the floor. It had dropped when she had fallen. The lid was open and my aunt had not put her baby in her crib. I hadn't noticed the baby, so I walked upstairs. The baby got ahold of the meds and she overdosed. My aunt found her dead on the floor the next day.

The funeral was about two weeks later. When I showed up, I walked to the tiny coffin and almost passed out. I stared. There was the coffin I had seen two weeks earlier. The same blue tinted coffin with the green cross on its cover. I tried telling my family, but they all thought I was still in shock over my cousins death. They thought I was delusional or something.

I still sometimes blame myself for my poor cousins death. But I also remind myself that there are supernatural forces that I cant even hope to change.
