The Closet

Two weeks ago my mom called me to tell me about a ghost she had seen many years ago when she was a little girl. She told me that back then, she and her best friend would play in her sister's bedroom closet and were often visited by an older lady. At the time they didn't realize this woman was a ghost. She said the woman would give them candy and they would play. Mom said that just before the ghost woman would appear the closet would get bigger like another room. She said this would happen when she would step to the back of the closet. Because I was in college I couldn't come home to check it out right away. I stayed on campus that weekend for a homecoming game.

I came home the following weekend and I went to my aunt's house to go in the closet. I stepped to the back of the closet. At first nothing happened. I was just standing alone in the dark. Then, I noticed I suddenly had more room in the closet. I saw the mystery woman. She was African-American. She appeared to have been a slave. She wore a dress and wore something on her head. I was a little nervous at first but I became calm when I realized who she was. She gave me candy. I don't remember what it was but it wasn't like today's candy. I don't know anything about her but she was nice.
