The Curse

It started when I was about 12, I had an argument with my stepdad's father because he favored my brother who was named after him, and in the heat of the argument I remember thinking to myself that I hoped he got sick and died. I regret it now and always will, because within a year he came down with cancer, lost weight to the point of looking like a skeleton with skin the night before he passed away.

Then when I was 16 I had a friend named Ralph that I had a huge crush on, and the day I was gonna ask him out he came up to me and school and cursed me out because someone told him I was talking crap about him. By the time I got home I was extremely angry that he would do that to me and believe someone elses lies like that and I wrote in my diary that I hoped he got hit by a car and died. I didn't mean it, but exactly a year later to the day, February 11, 2001, it happened. For absolutely no logical reason, he was walking home and decided that crossing a 6-lane highway at sundown would be a faster way to get home. The sun was in the drivers eyes and he didn't see Ralphie. If anyone doesn't believe me, you can look it up on google or something, Ralph Giordano from Fords, NJ.

These days I'm a lot more careful of what I say to people or think about people, because I blame myself for both of those deaths, and I have no way to take that back. I don't know why this happens though, so if anyone else has a similar problem plz tell me.

i'm very sorry about your step dad's father, and about your friend. it must be awful. i think i actually might have heard about ralph's death on the news somewhere, even though i live in CT. i don't think i know anyone who has this "curse," but you might try doing yoga to decrease the possibilty that you would wish harm on other people... just a suggestion. but find a teacher that also knows about the hindu background of yoga, not just how to do the different poses.

If just wishing someone would die worked, I think most of humanity would be dead. To me this sounds like just an awful coincidence.

Getting cancer is pretty common, but I admit deciding to take a short cut across 6 lanes of traffic is not .

Did you actually bring about this accident through your desire for revenge? I doubt it. Actually to curse someone takes a bit of doing, and since all things are circular, curses have a tendenancy to come back to the one who sent it out.

The real test is this...did you get cancer or get hit by a car? If not, there was no connection to you. Just a (unfortunate) coincidence.

I would not be concerned. As stated previously, it's probably real bad coincidence.

I just wouldn't wish anyone else to die just in case. 3 strikes and we're breaking some serious rules of probability. :)
