Things That Go Bump in the Night

I was probably about 9 when this happened to me.

I used to have a daybed so mine was raised off the ground. I had some toys and board games shoved under my bed like most kids at that age. I had nightmares all the time as a child but this thing that happened would be the first of many. It was about 1 in the morning, sleeping in complete darkness when I felt a bump underneath my bed (yeah, the stereotype is true. Things really do go bump in the night). My eyes shot open as it made me fly off the bed a few inches. I layed in bed, completely frozen and my searched the darkness. Then I stopped when I reached a spot by my door where I noticed the outline of a figure standing by my door. It had no face, nothing was glowing. It was just an outline of something standing there. I knew it was watching me though. I had no clue what to do. I just layed there still frozen and staring at this thing. Eventually I fell back asleep but ever since then, I've been terrified of the dark and I get anxiety. Even walking out into my garage during the day and seeing the light is off, sends my heart beating frantically.

This is the first of many incidents.
