Touched by a Spirit

I wrestled with myself about sharing this experience, because I was only too aware of the reactions it might cause. It then occurred to me that others might have had similar experiences and have been reluctant to share them for fear of ridicule.

A couple of years ago, I was awakened from sleep by what I call a "spirit voice" which usually consists of hearing my name whispered close by my ear.... jerking me awake in alarm. Normally, this is the entire experience, but this time I was touched once I was awake by something I couldn't see. The touch wasn't hostile, but it wasn't physical as we understand the use of the word either. The best way I can describe it is like the air got dense.... similar to what happens when somebody slams a car door and everyone inside feels the pressure on their skin. Along with the increased air pressure was a static electric charge that literally made the hair stand up on my body.

The experience made me look closely at what ghost hunters go through when they talk about the hair standing up on their arms or are even knocked to the ground by something that leaves a red mark on their skin with some disorientation, minor paralysis and even a difficulty in breathing. It made me wonder if a spiritual attack isn't similar in some ways to a stun gun or taser attack. I've noticed since that many European ghost hunters wear barometric air pressure monitors on their wrists to warn them of dramatic pressure changes that might indicate a possible attack before it happens.

I've also been "touched" by a ghost/spirit, but the story was short and I didn't really feel it deserved posting... but I was trying to get some sleep, and the night was humid and uncomfortable. I was tossing and turning in bed trying to find that spot where I could finally relax and doze off, and as soon as I had found it; someone grabbed my big toe hard and wiggled it as if they wanted to play "This little piggy".

Everyone was downstairs asleep, and I was alone in the attic... needless to say; I stood straight up in my bed.

I said; "now is not the time for games, I have to work in the morning"... the air gradually got cooler and I could sense a bit of mischief in it, so I grabbed my pillow and blanket and went and slept on the couch, knowing that my "friend" was not about to stop.

I've felt that cold before. One night in July a couple of years ago, I believe I was visited by something myself. I jerked awake and found myself straining to hear or see something to explain my reaction and noticed I was cold. In fact, I was so cold my teeth were chattering but my inside thermometer said it was 78-degrees in the room. I fumigated the room, stayed awake a couple of hours and finally fell into a fitful sleep. Whatever it was, it never visited me again.

Well its not the worst one because some people get hit and ive got scratched before by a very evil spirit. i nerly had blood running down my leg. But when you said you couldnt breath mabye when he touched you, you felt wat he/she felt before he/she might of died

I don't think anyone said they couldn't breathe. That sounds more like a "hag attack" as they're called where somone wakes up with the feeling that something is sitting on them and constricting their breathing. My contact wasn't hostile at all... just alarming. No one expects to be woken up like that.

I was out walking with a friend at night. While passing a large graveyard I assured her she shouldn't be afraid of spirits. I boasted about how I experienced things but it doesn't frighten me. Suddenly it felt like something shot into my throat. Not like a bug or choking on spittle. I felt a force of air enter my throat and choke me. I could not breath for what was probably a minute but felt like several. My friend kept asking if I was ok. I felt paralyzed not being able to answer or breathe. When it ended I knew I would never boast anymore. That was definitely something that proved to me unknown forces could possibly kill you.
