Unexplained Events

Hi all nothing too scary here. Not long after we were married my wife and I purchased an 8 room house, we had two Siamese cats, I would go to bed early due to my job. After getting into bed, one of the cats would always jump onto the bed. I would feel her walking across the bed and lay down. There would be times when I felt the cat jumping onto the bed; would open my eyes and look. No cat was there. I thought I was imagining things until one day my wife mentioned the same thing was happening to her. Sometimes one or both cats would be sitting at the bottom of the stairs just staring upstairs, and you could tell just by their movements, that they were sort of scared. One would sometimes start to venture up the steps only to get about halfway and quickly come back down. After my wife passed I would frequently smell a body powder she favored. The smell would be strong and last awhile. There was a night light in the kitchen which shown into the hall mirror and the light reflected onto a wall in a front room, I would see a shadow on the wall as if someone or something was passing between the light and the mirror, I would also see very tiny lights floating around the front room.

We had friends who we would visit in Maryland. Shortly after moving into the neighborhood, a neighbor asked her if the elderly woman she sees in the rocking chair at a second story window was her mother.

The neighbor replied there is no one here but my husband and children. She would come home from running errands and find the front door standing open, she would call her husband home from work. He would find nothing amiss. He would tell her she just wasn't being careful and she was not making sure the door was locked when she left. One time she called him home and the two Dobermans and a German shepherds just started whining and refused to go upstairs. He could not even drag them up. Not long afterwards they went upstairs like nothing ever happened. They also had the missing items thing happening. The items would show up somewhere else. One day the wife went for her car keys as she needed to get the kids to school. You guessed it, car keys were nowhere to be found. She started scolding whoever or whatever was doing this. She said I need my keys. I have to get the kids to school. She heard a jingle in the dining room and when she went in there were the keys, big as life on the dining room table. Breaking light bulbs and the usual things like that went on there on a regular basis. They have moved long ago from this house.

I live a very short distance from Gettysburg, Pa so I might have some more ghostly stories later.

When I moved from my original residence to an apt., my sister in law was one of the ones helping to get me settled in. She was in the kitchen area when I heard her let out a short scream. I said what is the matter with you woman (lol) she then proceeded to tell us ever since the first time she was here she felt like someone was watching her. Afraid, we would think she was loony, she didn't say anything, The reason for the short scream was she said someone touched her. The next time she returned she said the being watched feeling was gone.

This is sort of a retirement village, and across the street lived my elderly aunt. I had only been moved in here a short time when she passed away.(My sister who is one of those that rolls their eyes when the paranormal is mentioned) had cleaned out my aunts apartment and a couple days later went back to make sure she didn't miss anything before she turned over the keys to the owners (now remember she sister is a big time non-believer), but she swears when she was in the empty apartment she heard my aunt loudly call her name. So scratch one up for the believers.

I moved again in March 08, building was originally a shoe factory converted to senior citizen apts. First night I was here I would hear what sounded like people walking up and down the main hallway.

I started taking pics, so far nothing but 2 orbs (?). While sitting at my computer I saw out of the corner of my eye a shadow figure, of course soon as I turned my head to look it, it was gone. Next time the shadow was more obvious. I turned my head and for a "split " second it was there, then vanished through a closet door. A few night later about 1 am I was in the bathroom. I never shut the door this. This time I dropped something and of course it rolled between the open door and the wall.

I closed the door enough to retrieve the item, finished what I was doing and I heard TAP TAP TAP on the bathroom door (i am sure it came from the door) wasn't really scared. Surprised maybe I thought what the"H ". I opened the door and of course no one was there. I saw a shadow "shape" on the wall which proceeded to go behind my tv. I set up my dvd cam and caught nothing so far as movement, but heard what sounded like someone talking and heard loud slaps that I likened to someone smacking something like a yardstick onto a hard flat surface. These sound were rather loud ( I heard nothing while camera was recording) until later-investigation continuing.
