Unknown Protective Orb

I'm new to this and have very little knowledge on the matters you discuss on this site but have had a couple of experiences that I cant explain and need some ones opinion.

I was having a couple of drinks with my missus and father one night, and decided to light a fire. Eventually I was pretty intoxicated and to this day I don't remember much of the night.

The next day my missus told me that I did something really strange the night before. She said that I was staggering around near the fire and fell backwards into it in a seated position. Now if this had happened while I was sober I would of instantly jump out, and maybe suffered a couple of burns. Due to my stubborn like intoxicated state I apparently decided to take a breather while sitting in the fire.

The weird thing is she said that the fire surrounded me like I was in some kind of protective orb. as she was telling me I was checking out the clothes that I passed out in and they showed no signs of the event she explained nor did my skin. now, my missus isn't one to make up such a story and she had no reason to either. I asked my father if it were true and he also clarified that what I had been told was true.

Does anyone have an explanation for me PLEASE
