Visions of a Battlefield....................
Well I have always been very interested in the civil war history, and go to reenactment and such, but one day, I took a trip to the chickamunga battlefield in chattanoga. It was still very hot outside, so hot you could see the heat waves shimmer off the asphalt. I kinda glanced at my watch, and noticed the time, and went just to look over the area. I walked into a wooded area, off the beaten path, and I felt kinda off balance? feeling? can't quite describe it? I heard a rustlng and it kind of scared me, but it was just a little lizard running through some dirt and leaves. Then I heard some music. I thought it was at first some picnikers and their radio, but as I walked on, I heard it was a lone voice, and it was a old old song, about john brown? Then I heard the strains of another song. I wish I was in the land of cotton, but it was in a whistle! I looked ahead, and my heart started pounding, and there just in front of me, sitting underneath a tree, was a man in a old floppy hat, (blue,). He was bent over, had suspenders on, and a rifle laying next to him, and just all around him was old tombstones!! I kid you not!! I DID NOT GO FORWARD! I stumbled backwards almost tripping on my own feet, and left that area.
I got to the clearing, the field where I started, and sat down on a log and looked at my watch. It had not moved! It had stopped!! I wrote this story to readers digest, and named it visions of a battelfield, but I assure you, it was as real as I am...............................
