Visit from the Other Side
On the last day of 2000, my great-grandfather died in the hospital. We buried him in January of 2001 (duh). A couple of months after the memorial service, I was sitting at my grandparent's house in the back room that connects to a short hallway and my grandparents' bedroom. I sat there, as I always did and still do, watching tv. It was probably about 8 or 9 at night, and everyone there was in the front of the house or in the kitchen talking. I sat there with my eyes glued to the tv when out of the corner of my eye I saw a tall, lanky man walking towards the back door leading to the porch. He was transparent and acted like he didn't see me or anything else around him. He was tall, bald, and was wearing a black suit. I glanced over as he was slowly disappearing. My family didn't believe in ghosts what so ever, so I promised myself I wouldn't tell them in fear that they would think I was crazy, until about 2004 or 2005 when I was alone with my grandmother. I had suspected the man was my great-grandfather, so I asked her what we had buried him in. She described the black suit that the man was wearing. I told her about the man that I had seen and she told me that it could have been him. That was the first and last time anything ever happened at my grandparents' house.

My daughter wrote this story and I am very very proud of her. She is only 16 years old and I feel that she is a very good writer. I think she can make a career writing. So very, very proud.
